I have clarified with the Prime Minister that there are no verbal agreements: Deputy

“There is no other document attached to the published document. There is no question of giving up of any territory,” Ruben Rubinyan, a member of the National Assembly of the 7th convocation, said at a briefing with journalists today, on 21 May.

According to him, the Armenian side said that the discussion of this document could take place in case the Azerbaijani troops return to their starting positions.

The MP mentioned that he had clarified with the Prime Minister that there were no verbal agreements.

“A proposal has been received from the Russian Federation to form a trilateral commission on demarcation and delimitation. Attention. “Not to demarcate or delimit now or tomorrow or in a month, but to create such a commission,” Ruben Rubinyan said.

He noted that there is such a bilateral commission between Armenia and Georgia, which has been operating for more than 20 years. Part of the border is demarcated, the other part is not.

“In response to this proposal, we have expressed our clear position that this can happen only if in case of leaving the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia and returning to the starting positions. If this document is signed, and such a commission is formed, it will be about the delimitation and demarcation of the borders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, and not about Azerbaijan and Artsakh. This commission will have nothing to do with the status of Artsakh’s borders,” Ruben Rubinyan said.
