On 31 August, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a new decision relieving Srbuhi Galyan.
“Pursuant to Article 9, Part 1 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia “On Public Service”, to relieve Srbuhi Galyan from the post of Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.”
Earlier, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported that from 29 June to 1 July, 2020, there were open tenders for the completion of lists for prosecutors performing the functions provided by the Law on Confiscation of Property of Illicite Origin and Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia for Coordinating Functions for Illicite Property. One of the three applicants who applied to participate in the open competition held to fill the list of Deputy Candidates coordinating the sphere of functions of the RA Prosecutor General for confiscation of property of illicite origin participated in the competition (the other applicants did not appear). According to Iravaban.net that candidate is Srbuhi Galyan, who will soon be appointed Deputy Prosecutor General.
Notably, Srbuhi Galyan was appointed Deputy Minister of Justice by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s decision of 17 July, 2019.
Galyan coordinated the work of the Ministry in the following areas assigned to her in the implementation of the policy assigned to the Ministry:
- a) To develop a policy in the penitentiary sector, as well as to ensure the development and implementation of reforms, development programs in the mentioned sector;
- b) Ensuring methodological management of probation policy, as well as ensuring the implementation of reforms, development programs and implementation of the mentioned sector;
- c) Elaboration of the policy in the field of personal data protection, coordination of the activities of the personal data protection agency within the powers vested in the Ministry;
- d) Ensuring the implementation of anti-corruption policy, development and implementation of strategic programs;
- e) Ensuring the process of consideration of pardon petitions;
- f) Ensuring mobilization preparation, planning and implementation of mobilization-civil defense measures;
- g) To ensure the implementation of work in the field of open management partnership.
