As a result of the voting held at the regular General Meeting of judges held on 31 July at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex, a candidate for a judge of the Constitutional Court and a member of the Supreme Judicial Council were elected.

Thus, Yervand Khundkaryan was elected as a candidate for a judge of the Constitutional Court from two self-nominated candidates (Chairman of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Tavush Marz Arman Kurekhyan and Chairman of the Court of Cassation Yervand Khundkaryan).

Arman Khachatryan, head of the Press and Public Relations Service of the Judicial Department, said this in an interview with Iravaban.net.

Notably, Judge Stepan Mikaelyan of the Civil-Administrative Chamber of the Court of Cassation was also elected as a member of the Supreme Judicial Council.

It should be reminded that the names of Suren Antonyan and Gor Hakobyan, judges of the Civil-Administrative Chamber of the Court of Cassation, were included in the ballot for the vacancy of a member of the Supreme Judicial Council by the Head of the Judicial Department.
