As of 9 April, the number of people infected with the coronavirus in the world has exceeded 1,5 million. According to Johns Hopkins University data, by 18:30 Moscow time there are more than 1,502,000 registered cases of infection in the world. The United States remains the leader in the number of infected, with more than 432,000 cases. Spain is in second place with more than 152,000 people, followed by Italy with about 140,000.
The death toll from COVID-19 in the world is about 90,000. About 340,000 people have recovered. The highest number of deaths was registered in Italy – more than 17,000, in Spain the figure was more than 15,200, and in the United States – 14,800.
