Iravaban.net will publish Official Information: Within the State of Emergency there are Prohibitions on Media Releases and Reports

As we have already informed, the Government has decided to declare a state of emergency in the Republic of Armenia from 16 March to 14 April.

Chapter 7 of the Decision defines the prohibitions on certain publications and programs by mass media, in particular:

  1. Current and new outbreaks of infection in the Republic of Armenia as well as outside the Republic of Armenia, health status of persons, sources of infection, scope of other persons present or potentially infected, number of persons undergoing (infection testing) and isolation, as well as information that may cause panic or public dissemination of panic, transmission, dissemination of publications, information materials, interviews, reports (hereinafter referred to) as information concerning the risk of creating a situation; including in the form of their publication on the websites and social networks, individuals and legal entities, including the mass media, refer only to information provided by Commandant’s Office t (hereinafter referred to as Official Information).
  2. Reports referred to in paragraph 23 of this Procedure shall not contradict official information and shall reproduce it to possible extent.
  3. The restrictions provided in this chapter do not apply to reports made by public officials or references to their reports.
  4. Reports made in violation of the provisions of this Chapter shall be promptly eliminated by those who made them.
