The Georgian-Russian Border will also be closed

Zurab Abashidze, Special Representative of the Prime Minister of Georgia for relations with Russia, had a phone conversation with Russian Federal Council member Grigory Karasin. This is stated in the statement of the Georgian government, Aliq.ge reports.

Due to the threat of the spread of Coronavirus, the parties discussed the temporary suspension of the movement of citizens between Georgia and Russia on 16 March this year.

It was noted that the decision does not apply to those citizens of Russia and Georgia who wish to return to their country.

The restrictions do not apply to freight as well.
