Deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, Ararat Mzoyan and Artur Mzoyan are arrested on the grounds of the intentional organization and holding of the intentional gathering in violation of the procedure provided by the Law, the RA NA MP’s Nikol Pashinyan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Sasun Mikaelyan have been arrested according to the provisions of Article 96, Part 2 of the RA Constitution. Particularly, the mentioned MPs were caught in the process of publicly dangerous acts that were manifested in the fact that they had organized and held assemblies since 13 April, in violation of the order established by the RA Law on Freedom of Assembly, ignoring the restrictions established by the Yerevan Municipality. And in the period of 19 to 22 April 19, rallies were organized in different administrative districts of Yerevan, which were not inform to the authorized body in accordance with the procedure provided by law.
During the illegal assemblies, including marches, Nikol Pashinyan, Ararat Mzoyan and Sasun Mikayelyan, and persons who were instructed by them, periodically and violently infringed some provisions of the RA Law on Freedom of Assembly.
In particular, they prevented free entry and exit of buildings, buildings or other premises at the venue, and did not take the necessary measures to ensure the normal course of the assembly during the rally, did not inform the participants about the police request to stop the rally.
Moreover, Nikol Pashinyan, Ararat Mzoyan and Sasun Mikayelyan periodically urged participants and other people to block the streets of the city, block the entrance to the buildings of the state bodies, to enter the premises of the buildings subject to special protection, to dismantle their work during illegal rallies, including marches.
In the fulfillment of these calls, the organizers and participants of the rallies periodically and for a long time blocked a number of avenues and streets, other transport hubs, blocked access to the buildings of state, local self-governing bodies and private organizations, hindered their regular activities, harassed police officers and other persons, leading to the disproportionate restriction of the rights of individuals or of the public.
The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia was informed about the arrest of the RA NA deputies according to the procedure provided by the RA Constitution.
