I urge Nikol Pashinyan to sit at the negotiating table: Serzh Sargsyan

RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan made a statement on 21 April, which says:

“During the past week Yerevan hosted a number of demonstrations and marches. Everyone in our country has the right to hold peaceful demonstrations and marches. The authorities respect this right and will continue to respect.

Unfortunately, these public meetings frequently crossed the boundaries of the law and received unnecessary and anarchic manifestations of which numerous statements by the Police informed. The developments are fraught with unpredictable consequences, endanger public order and harm the complex and subtle harmony of Armenian society.

Each of us must remember that besides him, citizens of Armenia, who are not less proud of, live, learn, work and rest in this country. The harmony of our society should be based on solidarity and tolerance.

I am deeply concerned about the inner-political developments. In order to avoid irreparable losses, I urge MP of the National Assembly Nikol Pashinyan to sit at the political dialogue and negotiations table. It should be done immediately.

I am confident that all political forces of the country can contribute to initiating dialogue analogous to such situation.”
