What Measures is the Initiative “No to Plunder!” planning to take?

Today, during their meeting with journalists, the members of the coordinating team of the civic initiative “No to Plunder!” spoke about their future plans.

According to the members of the coordinating team, their demands have not been met and, as far as the increased price of electricity is concerned, the Government has apparently lied to them yet again.

“What Serzh Sargsyan said is an empty claim which has become more than obvious. The society knows very well who the liars are and what they do,” – said one of the coordinators, Rima Sargsyan.

Maksim Sargsyan, another member of the civic initiative, added that their demands were the same as before, that is: cancelling the rise in electricity price.

“The rally will start at 18:30 on 11 September, at the Square of Freedom. The path is not clear yet. We’ll choose what’s best on the spot,” – said Maksim Sargsyan.

He also informed everyone that before the rally on 11 September there will be an awareness car march that will start at the Brazilian Square, at 17:00.

Maksim Sargsyan urged everyone to join adding that every person needs to understand that he/she fights for his/her own rights, “This is the second stage of the struggle and we will employ all the forms of civil disobedience that are not forbidden by law.”

The member of the coordinating team also spoke about what happened on 1 September saying that it was the continuation of the events of 23 July.

We would like to remind you that on 1 September the initiative had commenced a public discussion in the Lovers’ Park. Afterwards it got moved to Baghramyan Avenue where the protesters tried to block the intersection but the police forces removed them from the carriageway.
