People often say, “If you have a notary paper, that will do”. To change that attitude, the Justice Ministry has drafted a new law on “Notary”. “The new law significantly amend the existing one. Today we aim to shape a full Latin notary system,” – says deputy minister o justice Aram Orbelyan to iravaban.net.
Participants of ministry of justice-organized seminar on “Notary system prospects” expressed opinions and listened to international notary experiences and case studies.
“The new law envisages full notary responsibility, one-window approach at notary. It will create legal grounds to electronic notary”, – Aram Orbelyan says.
AAC network reforms specialist Sona Harutyunyan says their suggested reforms also were reflected in the new “Notary” law. “Young Lawyers Association of Armenia” implemented notary monitoring in 2009, 2011, outlined issues and offered amendment recommendations”, – Harutyunyan says.
Soon public hearings on the new law will be held.
