Today, the Deputy Minister of Justice Sergey Manasaryan introduced the Draft on the approval of estimate of expenditures for 2015 of the “Training of Trainers: Gender Equality in Youth Employments” Project of the RA Ministry of foreign Affairs on the account of off-budget spending in the State Budget 2015 of the Republic of Armenia, and making changes and amendments in the decision of 18 December 2014 N1515-N of the RA Government.
The Deputy Minister noted that it is foreseen to approve the estimate of 2015 for the expenditures from the off-budget account of the project.
Vigen Sargsyan, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration had objections against the draft. Referring to the term “gender equality” he said that we return to the same problem. Mr. Sargsyan referred to the Gender Equality Act, which gave rise to contradictions within the public. Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration said, “Moreover, justification is just killing: “A wrong and incomplete interpretation currently exists among the youth, and it should be corrected” we imply the word gender. We have had this with the Ministry of Social Security, the Armenian Apostolic Church has provided its position, we need to make editorial changes,”-Mr. Sargsyan said.
