The Waist Water from Tailing Disposals System leaks on the Road. What has been done 3 years after the alert of Iravaban.net

Back in 2012, on 1 December, Syunik Anti-Corruption Center informed that the waist water tailing disposal system servicing pipeline of “Dino Gold Mining Company” CJSC, the current “Dundee Precious Metals Kapan” CJSC was damaged on the night of November 30 – December 1 near the section at Iran – Armenia Highway near the city and the waist water leaked from the pipeline on the road and then flow into Geghanush river. A criminal case was initiated based on this alert.

Today, the “Dundee Precious Metals Kapan” CJSC assures that such accidents can no longer occur in this section.

Armenak Grigoryan, Manger of the Concentrating mill of the “Dundee Precious Metals Kapan” CJSC said that the company had carried out special work aimed to avoid the accidents. Specifically, the sections where the pipelines join are covered with iron barriers, to ensure that the waist water will not leak on the road in case of possible accident.

In addition, a concrete underground reservoir was built in the adjacent ravine; in case of a possible accident the waist water will flow through the corresponding pipelines to this reservoir. Armenak Grigoryan said that no accident had occurred up to this moment, so the efficiency of the reservoir and the pipeline could have only be sees due to the rain.

In fact, the waste water pipes are joined by special frames – compensators. “Dundee Precious Metals Kapan” CJSC informed that after the accident in 2012, an internal service investigation was conducted. The investigation revealed that the compensators were damaged. There are doubts that some people had damaged the compensators, which later caused the waste water drain.
