Today, the debate stage of the case of the accused Artur Sargsyan, who is charged with the large scale theft of property of others, started in the half-empty session hall.
The defendant’s advocate had to present a 20 page defense speech, n\but advocate Hunan babayan dis not appear. Artur Sargsyan was absent as well.
Arshak Varsanyan, judge of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork Marash Administrative Districts publicized the written notice submitted to the court by the penitentiary, which informed that the defendant had health problems. The Judge cited, “Artur Sargsyan complains of headaches, dizziness, nausea, ear noise and dazzle, pale, and blood pressure 180-110. n the future he probably will not be able to attend the court sessions, depending on the state of health.”
It was decided to postpone the examination of the case based on the defendant’s absence. The session was appointed on May 22. Hunan Babayan will hold a speech.
Let us remind that Arthur Sargsyan has been charged for presenting himself as an official, and in some cases – as a person running a profitable entrepreneurship business abroad, and in the period of September 2008 to March 2012 committed abduction of particularly large amount of property through fraud and abuse of trust with the pretense of business deals with physical or legal entities.
According to the prosecutor as a result of Arthur Sargsyan’s actions 10 physical persons and 10 Companies had suffered. He solicited to sentence Arthur Sargsyan to 11 years imprisonment, and to seize for the benefit of victims the amount of around 186 million AMD.
