Guangzhou-based Guangda Law Firm has cut a non-exclusive alliance with New Delhi’s Singh & Associates in the first Sino-Indian legal sector deal of its kind.
Guangda law is a Chinese full-service law firm of 116 full-time lawyers. Singh & Associates has 46 lawyers working in four Indian offices as well as in a New York outpost, reports “Global Legal Post”. According to the publication Asian Legal Business, the firms intend to offer legal services in the growing number of cross-border transactions between China and India.
Singh principal associate Harsimran Singh will relocate to Beijing, along with partner Dilip Niranjan, who will head an Indian advisory desk at Guangda’s Beijing office. Corporate lawyer Mr Niranjan, who specialises in structuring international outbound investment from India, will lead a team of one partner and five associates.
An additional joint desk at Guangda’s Shanghai office is scheduled to open soon, but no date has been given.
