On 8 October 2014, Anna M., DoB 1992, resident of Hartashen Village of Syunik Marz, gave birth to a baby on the haystack in the yard of their village house and immediately after giving birth to her newborn baby with the intention to deprive it from life, closed its mouth and nostrils and thus strangled and killed the baby.
When the case was brought to court, the defendant filed a motion for a summary trial. She said that she agreed with the charge.
The maximum term for this crime is 5 years in prison. The Court considered the young age of the defendant and other circumstances of the case the court ruled a light sentence.
