Today at the 7th Session of the Fifth Convocation of the RA, Galust Sahakyan, the Speaker of the RA NA began the session with a 1 minute silence in the memory of the victims of brutal murder on 12 January in Gyumri and the soldiers killed by the enemy at the border.
Galust Shakyan noted that the NA will do everything within its power to disclose the murder in Gyumri.
In today’s session MP Nikol Pashinyan referred to the events that happened on 31 January during the rally organized by the “Founding Parliament” Civic Initiative and the actions of NKR Police.
The Civic Initiative has circulated a video showing how the people in police uniform are hitting the people and the cars with batons. The NKR Police explained that the participants of the rally allowed illegal actions and as a result the police had to apply corresponding measures.
Nikol Pashinyan called this incident “monstrous”. He emphasized that the incident was a serious blow to Armenian NKR relations.
“The public is waiting for the answer. It wouldn’t be exaggerating if we shall say that the people are still shocked by the happening,” Nikol Pashinyan said. He suggested forming a delegation to visit the NKR and to find out what measures have been undertaken to liquidate the negative aftereffects of the incident in Berdzor, as well as to discuss the incident with NKR colleagues.
The NA Speaker said he would deal with the problem and discuss it with his NKR Colleague.
