Today, at the government session, Hovhannes Manukyan, The Minister of Justice of the RA introduced the RA Government Opinion on the Draft Law of the RA on making Changes and Amendments to the RA Law on “Recognizing void a number of Laws of former USSR and Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic, and a number of normative legal acts of the Republic of Armenia’s Supreme Council.”
The Minister noted that the draft recommends to amend clause 32 of Article 3 of the Draft Law of the RA on making Changes and Amendments to the RA Law on “Recognizing void a number of Laws of former USSR and Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic, and a number of normative legal acts of the Republic of Armenia’s Supreme Council,” which provides that the mentioned clause does not have retroactive force and does not apply to the individuals who held the mentioned positions until 16 December 2006.
Mr. Manukyan added that the relations connected with the social guarantees of the state officials in office currently are regulated by the RA Law on the “Social Guarantees of Persons Holding State Positions,” which provides the list of the persons holding state positions, as well as defines the types and amounts of the social guarantees.
Based on a number of factors, Hovhannes Manukyan stressed that there is no need for the adoption of the draft law.
The RA Government provided negative opinion on the Draft Law authored by the MP, member of the Armenian National Congress Gagik Jhangiryan.
