Today, on November 5, the Court of general jurisdiction of Erebuni and Nubarashen communities of Yerevan continued its sitting on the case of Hayk Khachatryan, soldier sick with smallpox. Testimonies were given by Professor Mushegh Mirijanyan, member of the Examination Commission.
The Examination Commission consisting of 12 members was established in April to carry out a double judicial examination based on the decision of the Minister of Health (later on one of the members refused to work in the Commission).
When the witness was being questioned, the defense stated that Minas Mkrtchyan, state official of Neurological department of RA MoD 14203 military unit and Mikayel Mikayelyan from the Central Military hospital, sit on the chairs of defendants, and he asked whether they made certain professional mistakes which caused the death of the soldier. “People did everything, and even if they did more, the child would have died. I think, and sorry if it sounds not proper, death is always regrettable, but they did everything in their competences”, mentioned the expert.
