Volodya Avetisyan`s lawyer Ara Zakaryan filed a petition to the Court of Cassation, arguing the ruling of the Criminal Court of Appeals.
On 16 September the Criminal Court of Appeals rejected the petition of Vardan Avetisyan`s lawyer, keeping the June 17 ruling of the Court of general jurisdiction of Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun Communities unchanged, by which Volodya Avetisyan was convicted to 6-year imprisonment.
“The Court went out of the competences endowed to it by law. Volodya Avetisyan was unfairly judged. The petition is extensive, but the basis are these ones”, informed Mr. Zakaryan to Iravaban.net.
According to the RA Criminal Proceeding Code, the Court of Casssation makes a decision on the entrance of the petition into proceeding withing 3 months after receiving the case.
