Today the court of general jurisdiction of Kotayk region postponed the trial on Vardan Petrosyan`s case. The two lawyers of the defendant, Nikolay Baghdasaryan and Samvel Jaghinyan were not present at the court sitting. The latter assumed the protection of Vardan Petrosyan`s rights at the previous court sitting.
The Secretary of court sittings informed that lawyer Nikolay Baghdasaryan did not attend the court sitting as he was feeling unwell, and Samvel Jaghinyan had not presented any justification for his absence. Judge Vaghinak Mkrtchyan got interested whether Vardan petrosyan knew the reasons of his lawyer`s absence, and the defendant answered that he was not aware. Because of the absence of the defense side the trial was postponed till 31 October.
Let us remind that according to the accusation, Vardan Petrosyan is accused of violating traffic rules at around 22:10 on 20 October 2013 and thus causing a RTA where he crashes his car into the “Vaz 21214” car and unintentionally caused the death of “Vaz 21214” passengers Edward Arthuri Hakobyan and Edgar Hayki Hakobyan and caused serious health damage to Tatevik Arthuri Hakobyan and life-threatening health damage to Hayk Martirosi Hakobyan, Emma Hayki Hakobyan and driver Arthur Martirosi Hakobyan.
