Life-sentenced prisoners are not on a hunger strike in Nubarashen penitentiary any more. Iravaban.net receives this information from the Public Relations division head of the Criminal-executive department of the RA Ministry of Justice, Gor Ghlejyan. “They decided and stopped the announced hunger-strike yesterday at 18:00”, said Mr. Ghlejyan, adding that during the whole process of hunger strike the convicts were under medical control, and no prisoner had any serious health problems.
Public Relations division head of the Criminal-executive department of the RA Ministry of Justice also informed that this is the first case that this many life-sentenced prisoners go on a hunger-strike together.
Let us remind that there are 104 life-sentenced prisoners in Armenia. More than 90 of them bear their punishment at the “Nubarashen” penitentiary.
