On July 1, at about 2:15am Nor Nork police department of Yerevan received information that a citizen with a suit case entered the restaurant complex and threatened to blow it up.
As Photo reporter Gagik Shamshyan informs policemen from Nor Nork and Avan police departments arrived in the restaurant. It took them about three hours to negotiate with the man and at last they managed to convince him and take him to the police department.
Shamshyan informs that explosive materials were found in the citizen’s suit case (trinitrotoluol, garnets, bullets and other arms). The Criminal Department of Nor Nork Police department of Yerevan currently prepares materials.
According to the information of the same source the man was a 39 years old Lieutenant Colonel of the RA Armed Forces Vardan Samvelyan. Vardan Samvelyan entered Harsnaqar Restaurant Complex wearing military cloths and threatened to blow it up.
