Hayk Ghazaryan, a member of the Council for the Protection of the Rights of Artsakh Armenians, within the framework of Iravaban.net’s “Legal Issues of Artsakh Armenians in Armenia” series told that Artsakh Armenians have faced both legal and moral issues, and these issues are numerous.
“After the exodus of Artsakh people, not all conditions were created for them to feel at home: safe and secure, both physically and socially. Artsakh’s issues are not only social and are not limited to them. The most important right is the right to return to Artsakh; we also have an issue of dignity. We also have the issue of preserving historical and cultural heritage, which is very important and an irreversible loss. We will be persistent in ensuring that the issue of Artsakh people’s rights becomes internationalized,” he noted.
Our interlocutor emphasized that the rights of Artsakh Armenians should be more consistently protected by the Government. Referring to the housing provision program, he mentioned that realistic financial support should be provided.
“Of course, certain negotiations are ongoing, they are in progress, not yet finalized, but I think this issue is very important. Everything must be done so that Artsakh people feel safe, secure, and protected,” said Hayk Ghazaryan.
