“The Artist Must Revolve Within the Wheel of Life”: Artist Guy Ghazanchyan

Born into a family of artists, Guy Ghazanchyan has not strayed far from his roots and has continued on the path of an artist.

He says he doesn’t know if it would have been the same had he been born into a different family: “It can be said that regardless of everything, I would have found myself in some creative field. For me, creating something from nothing is important.”

Every detail of the artist’s work tells about the world living inside him and his constant aspiration to convey thought through art. Each creation received through the artist’s hands is a memory that time cannot forget, a story that remains forever in color.

You can find information about Guy’s creative path, his love for art, unique painting technique, style, his distinctive way of looking at the world, and interesting themes characteristic of his profession in the seventh part of the “Mystery of Creation” video series within the “ZArt” cultural project, which is implemented by Iravaban.net.

“ZArt” has a special mission: to build a bridge between art and society. The project aims to present Armenian artists and their exceptional works not only to Armenian society but also to the diaspora and abroad, contributing to the popularization of art and recognition of artists. Through this series of videos, society draws closer to art, and artists to society, creating a beautiful space of cultural understanding.

Drawing inspiration from the world, Guy tries to create his own reality in which he can be honest with himself. He doesn’t like pretentious words at all: “Everything I’ve done until today, I’ve done only with love; without love, I can’t succeed at anything.”

He emphasizes that art is constantly changing with life, and the artist must also revolve within the wheel of life: “It’s better not to talk too much about painting; let the observer discover for themselves what I want to say with this or that painting, because they differ from one another, made for different projects, with different ideas.”

Guy creates each painting primarily for himself, but when everything is ready, the moment comes to share his creation with people.

According to the artist, life is wonderful but very uniform and symmetrical, “on one line.” If one has eyes that look at life a little differently, everything will not be so monotonous.

There is no secret; everything is very simple and accessible: “I think that if nothing hinders, one should eternally work on different materials, try to make new discoveries, always search, search!”

The author and leader of the “ZArt” cultural project concept is Karen Zadoyan, and the author and director of the “Mystery of Creation” video series is Vazgen Ghukasyan.
