A Square in Paris was named after Charles Aznavour

The Paris Municipality has named the square of the 8th arrondissement of the French capital, which is in the historical center of the city, on the Champs Elysees, after the legendary chansonnier Charles Aznavour. BFMTV reported.

The city council decided to pay tribute to Aznavour, whose songs occupied a special place in Paris in this way.

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, relatives and friends of Aznavour were present at the event dedicated to the artist’s 100th birthday.

The decision to name the square after Aznavour was adopted by the Paris City Council in December 2023. In 2021, his bust was unveiled in the Odeon district of Paris, where Aznavour spent his childhood.
