Cooperation of Yerevan with the US and the EU is not directed against the EEU: Mher Grigoryan to RIA Novosti

Cooperation of Yerevan with the US and the European Union is not directed against the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan told RIA Novosti.

“The Republic of Armenia announced its intention to further diversify its trade and economic ties. Today, almost all countries are conducting such an economic policy, and this is not done against any country or union… The policy of diversification of trade and economic relations is not directed against any unions, especially the EEU,” Grigoryan said, answering the questions whether the close interaction with the USA and the EU prevent Armenia from participating in the EEU, and is the country preparing to leave this Union?

A joint meeting on EU and US cooperation with Armenia was held in Brussels on Friday, with the participation of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, as well as the  President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Josep Borrell.

Before the meeting, Von der Leyen promised to allocate 270 million Euros of development support to Armenia over the next four years.
