The Court Session scheduled for the Case of Vahagn Vermishyan was postponed

On 18 January, the Anti-Corruption Court held the hearing of the Ex-Chairman of the Urban Planning Committee, former Chief Architect of Stepanavan Vahagn Vermishyan in the case of confiscation of property of alleged illicit origin.

According to Iravaban.net,  a fewminutes after the opening of the session, it was postponed. Armen Melkumyan, the representative of the respondents, was not in the country, he had left to the USA for personal reasons. The party also claimed that they made a number of requests and did not receive answers, time is needed.

Naira Artashesyan, Prosecutor of the Department for Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin of Prosecutor General’s of Office, stated that she does not object to the motion, because she received the motions presented by the defendant only an hour before the session, and did not have time to study them.

The presiding judge Karapet Badalyan postponed the trial. The next session will be held on 12 February.
