Arrests have been made in connection with the attack carried out in the city of Kerman, Iran. Tasnim agency reported, citing the country’s Minister of Interior Ahmad Vahidi.
In an interview with journalists in Kerman, Vahidi said that Iran’s security forces have found “helpful clues” related to the perpetrators of the terrorist attack, several suspects have been arrested. The Minister added that “all the elements involved in the terrorist crime will be discovered and arrested.”
On 3 January, two explosions took place in Kerman near the grave of General Qasem Soleimani, who was killed by an airstrike ordered by US President Donald Trump. The explosives were set off, in a crowd of people during a ceremony held in connection with the 4th anniversary of the General’s death.
As a result of the attack, the number of victims reached 89, including 9 children. Almost 300 people were injured.
The “Islamic State” terrorist group claimed responsibility for the explosions.
