Ernest Khachatryan was born in the city of Baku and is reporting as a refugee for the second time. In the framework of “Artsakh: Armenian Genocide 2023. Stories of Survivors” documentary project of Iravaban.net, he told that he had seen many difficulties.
“We fled from Baku to Stepanakert, things were going well there, we lived for 30 years, we created everything, we built a house from scratch, we suffered day and night, now we left and came to Armenia,” he said.
Ernest’s parents told him about the atrocities that happened in Sumgait, he was small at that time. “There were terrible incidents, Armenians were not even allowed to escape, and they were bullied. A lot of people were affected and went crazy as a result of those events. It was the same while leaving Baku.”
