Negotiations with the Armenians of Artsakh can bring peace. RIA Novosti writes, referring to Ilham Aliyev’s representative in Yevlakh.
“It is difficult to expect that all the problems between the Armenians of Artsakh and Azerbaijan will be solved in Yevlakh as a result of one meeting.
“The negotiations between the Armenians of Artsakh and Azerbaijan can lead to a compromise agreement that will end the conflict,” he said.
The meeting of the delegation of the Republic of Artsakh with the representatives of Azerbaijan has ended in Yevlakh. The negotiations took place in a closed format.
The Nagorno-Karabakh delegation included Davit Melkumyan, Head of the “Artsakh Democratic Party” Faction of the Artsakh Parliament, and Sergey Martirosyan, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council. On the Azerbaijani side, Mejlis Deputy Ramin Mamedov, the Deputy of the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan, Bashir Hajiyev, the employee of the Special Representative’s Office, Ilkin Sultanov, were involved in the negotiations.
Baku proposed the reintegration of the Armenians of Artsakh on the basis of the constitution of Azerbaijan. Yesterday, the Assistant to the President of the Republic, Hikmet Hajiyev, also announced that the government has prepared a program for socio-economic integration of the residents of the region.
