On 15 August, at the initiative of the Azerbaijani side, a telephone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeihun Bayramov. The Russian Foreign Ministry reported.

There was an exchange of ideas on the most current international and regional agenda. Special emphasis was placed on the need for practical implementation of previously agreed-upon steps aimed at quick de-escalation of the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh, including the unblocking of humanitarian routes, including the Lachin Corridor.

It was emphasized that the comprehensive implementation of the tripartite agreements between the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia has no alternative to achieve a stable settlement of relations between Baku and Yerevan.

The ministers expressed a general opinion about the ineffectiveness of attempts to replace specific work in this field with political propaganda activities.
