On 18 September, based on operational information received by the Criminal Investigation Department of Yerevan City, the police arrested Armen Shahbazyan, resident of Gogahovit village of Shirak marz, born in 1967, with previous conviction and brought him to the General Department of Criminal Investigation.
As a result of undertaken measures Shahbazyan admitted that in September 1998, during a quarrel on monetary issue at his family home, he hit with his hand his girl friend Diana, who lost consciousness and died.
Aimed to avoid punishment Shahbazyan buried the corpse under the wall of a building adjacent to the house.
At night 19 September the representatives of Shirak marz Criminal Investigation Department and the 3rd regiment of Patrol Duty Service of Yerevan City Department left for Gogahovit village of Shirak marz.
The policemen discovered the bones of the victim in the place which Shahbazyan showed.
The circumstances are being clarified. The prepared materials were sent to the department of Especially Important Cases of the General Investigation Department of Police.
