The Supreme Judicial Council terminated the powers of Alexey Sukoyan, the judge of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan.
“The Supreme Judicial Council, after examining the petition of the Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan, decided to satisfy it and terminate the powers of the judge of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, Alexey Sukoyan, on the basis of a significant disciplinary violation.
The decision comes into force from the moment of publication and is final.
The Council considers it necessary to clarify that the judge accepted the application regarding the adoption of the child in the event that there was a basis for its return. Made an unfounded and unreasoned decision on adoption. In the absence of the necessary legal grounds and conditions for adopting a child, as well as in the judgment, the issue related to the record of the surname of the father of a child adopted by a person who is not married was reserved to the body for Civil Acts Registration, and the record of the surname of the father of the adopted child was made in violation of the established order.
The Council records that the judge has questioned his suitability for the status of a judge and has discredited the judicial authority by his actions,” Karen Andreasyan, the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, stated while announcing the decision.
