8 countries have joined the EU Anti-Russian sanctions

Eight countries, including Ukraine, have joined all decisions taken since 14 September to impose EU sanctions on Russia, including an oil price ceiling.  The EU Council reported in a statement.

“North Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Ukraine, the countries of the European Free Trade Zone – Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, have joined the sanctions against Russia,” the report states.

These countries consistently support all EU sanctions decisions, as candidates to join the community are obliged to follow all EU foreign policy decisions if they want to receive a positive assessment from the European Commission to join the union.

Serbia remains the only EU candidate that consistently refuses to impose anti-Russian sanctions, which irritates Brussels.
