Alaska Senator Dan Sullivan has proposed that the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation hold a hearing on the dangers of the TikTok social network, according to a lawmaker’s letter.
“I am calling for hearings on the persistent privacy issues, national security concerns, and troubling influence over our children associated with TikTok,” the senator said in a letter to committee leaders, posted on Sullivan’s personal Twitter account.
Let’s remind that similar hearings were held in October 2021, according to the lawmaker, the concerns raised about them were not only confirmed.
More than 100 million Americans use TikTok in the US. The former head of the White House, Donald Trump, made an unsuccessful attempt to achieve the sale of the social network’s assets, he also wanted to block TikTok domestically.
