The crashed plane was on its way to Astrakhan from “Zvartnots” Airport: Ministry of Emergency Situations provides details

The B55 plane which crashed in the Jraber village in Kotayk province on 1 December had departed from Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan and was en route to Astrakhan, Hayk Kostanyan spokesperson of the Ministry of Emergency Situations told ARMENPRESS.

He said that they were notified by the Civil Aviation Committee that the B55 disappeared from air traffic control radars. “Our crews were dispatched to the area and found the wreckage near Jraber village,” Kostanyan said.

2 bodies were found.

The plane crashed in an open field and there were no damages on the ground.

Other details weren’t immediately available.

Notably, on 1 December, at 2:20 p.m., the National Center for Crisis Management received information that a B-55 plane crashed and caught fire in the area of ​​Jraber village, Kotayk marz.

Two combat units from the fire-rescue squads of the rescue department of the Yerevan State Emergency Medical Service, three rescue teams from the special purpose rescue operations center of the Rescue Forces Department and the duty team of the Medical Support Department left for the scene.

2 burnt bodies were found on the spot.

The fire was extinguished at 14:41.
