Shooting courses initiated by the RA Ministry of Defense continue.
The participants undergo special training, familiarize with the skills of using weapons, learn some nuances of first aid and carry out practical shooting training.
In an interview with Iravaban.net, one of the participants, Anahit Matevosyan, said that her mother directed her to participate in the course initiated by the Ministry of Defense.
In her opinion, such courses are necessary for women.
“I am here to learn how to use weapons. I want to deepen my knowledge. I think we needed this and if it is continuous, it will be more effective,” our interlocutor noted.
Anahit emphasized that she is ready to participate in the defense of the country if necessary.
According to the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Aram Torosyan, an online platform https://shooting.mil.am was created so that the participants of the shooting course could convey their opinions, comments, and suggestions to the Ministry of Defense at the end of the course.
“As the Minister of Defense stated, such programs will continue. The main requests we received were asking for programs like this to be ongoing. As we mentioned, the program is intended for citizens who have not completed military service, that is, those who have not been registered in the reserve force, and the purpose of this program is for our citizens to familiarize themselves with the basic rules of shooting and dealing with combat weapons,” he said.
Aram Torosyan also mentioned that one of the goals of the program is to increase the attractiveness of military service.
Groups also participate in the course organized by the Ministry of Defense. For example, Tsaghik Babayan, the director of N24 nursery-kindergarten, mentioned in a conversation with Iravaban.net that she had came with her employees. And she had made the offer to participate.
“I consider that every woman, every mother, should master the art of using a weapon, because this is really an art and is binding. Armenian woman has always stood behind her man. We will definitely attend again. My son participated in the April and 2nd Artsakh Wars and I am one of those happy mothers who met her son alive and well. During the war, I thought a lot about being next to my son and all the soldiers, so that I could somehow help them,” she said.
Tsaghik Babayan called on all mothers not to avoid and to come and learn shooting training, because it will help and not hinder.
As already reported by the Ministry of Defense, on 12 November, a visit of accredited mass media representatives to the military training center was organized in order to cover the combat shooting training of citizens.
