Banning an Armenian woman from entering Armenia is a new word in the history of the Armenian people: Margarita Simonyan

After the Russian State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin was banned from entering Armenia, the Editor-in-Chief of the “Russia Today” News Agency, an Armenian by nationality, Margarita Simonyan, made a post on her social networks saying that her entry into Armenia is also considered undesirable.

Aravot.am sent a request to Simonyan’s press service to clarify who, when and for what reason banned Margarita Simonyan from entering Armenia. Margarita answered the question personally, stating: “I can only say that I received an impulse from reliable sources regarding the impossibility of my visit to Armenia. I have no idea why. Banning an Armenian woman from entering Armenia is a new word in the history of the Armenian people.”

Let’s also add that a day after the incident referring Zatulin, the Russian MFA spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced that they are investigating the causes of the incident through diplomatic channels and added that if the information is confirmed, it will be difficult to qualify this approach as a friendly step in line with the alliance nature of Russian-Armenian relations.
