We learn about this from Ermenihaber.am .

Within this framework, Hulusi Akar met with the Minister of Defense of Greece Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos . The parties discussed issues of regional defense and security.

At the NATO headquarters, Akar also met with his colleagues from other countries, in particular with United States Secretary of Defense. Lloyd Austin and German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht.

In his meetings, Akar continuously emphasized that Turkey, which has been a member of NATO for more than 70 years, has the second largest army and greatly contributed to the security of the Euro-Atlantic alliance. Meanwhile, according to him, the export restrictions applied to Turkey have weakened Euro-Atlantic security.

During the aforementioned meetings, various issues related to cooperation in the field of military industry were also put on the table.

Let’s remind that Turkey joined NATO in. on 18 February, 1952, just 3 years after the creation of that alliance.
