According to Armenpress, Chief of the General Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces Mohammad Bagheri said Iran will not tolerate any change in the borders in the region, IRNA reports.
Mohammad Bagheri said they call on Azerbaijan and Armenia to solve the issues between them peacefully, through dialogue. “We do not seek conflicts and wars, but we do not remain silent when it is necessary to resist them”, he said.
Note that on 13 September, from 00:05, the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces started to fire intensively from artillery means, large-caliber firearms in the direction of Goris, Sotk and Jermuk in the direction of the Armenian positions. The enemy also used UAVs. Later, Azerbaijan used artillery means in other directions as well.
According to official data, the number of victims and missing persons on the Armenian side is 207, 3 civilians were killed, 293 servicemen were wounded, 7 civilians and 20 servicemen were captured.
Armen Grigoryan, the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, announced on 14 September that thanks to the involvement of the international community, it was possible to reach a ceasefire agreement.
