The Embassy of Ukraine in London has started preparations for the visit of the new Prime Minister of Great Britain, Liz Trussy, to Kyiv. The Ukrainian Ambassador to Great Britain Vadim Prystaiko announced.
“When she officially becomes Prime Minister, I think there will be an immediate call, and the arrangement for the visit of Liz Truss will not wait. We have already started preparing for both this conversation and the arrival of Liz Truss in Kyiv,” he noted.
Let’s remind that on 5 September, 47-year-old Truss won the leadership of the ruling Conservative Party. 81,326 members of the Conservative Party (57%) voted for her candidacy. her rival, 42-year-old former finance minister Rishi Sunak, got 60,399 votes (43%).
On Monday, Boris Johnson commented on Truss’ victory and congratulated her. In addition to him, another former Prime Minister of Great Britain, Theresa May, congratulated Truss on her victory in the elections. She called on the Conservative Party to work together to solve the problems facing the United Kingdom.
Johnson announced his resignation on 7 July. It happened because of the scandals related to his name, when more than 50 politicians left the government.
