According to Charles Michel, the President of the European Council, the European Union is committed to supporting Georgia so that the country can move forward on the path of European integration by implementing the necessary reforms.

After the meeting with the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, Michel wrote on his Twitter account.
“With PM GharibashviliGe reaffirmed EU’s support to Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
This is truly a geostrategic moment.
Last week, Council of Europe decided on Georgia’s EU membership perspective.
We commit further support to advance the process pursuing much needed reforms,” Michel wrote.
Gharibashvili and Michel met on 29 June, in Madrid, during the NATO summit.
