Hrair studied Architecture and Design at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, and obtained the qualification of an architect-designer.
The sister, Narine Khanikyan, remembers that her brother was constantly in a hurry.
“He used to say that the most precious thing in life is time. He did not like to waste his time. He had to do something, paint, draw, have a good time with friends. He always had a pencil in his hand,” the sister says.
According to his friend, Hrayr’s dream was to develop and flourish Artsakh. “His dream was to make Artsakh an attracting place.”
In 2018, he received an offer from the Artsakh Republic to assume the position of Head of the Department of Urban Development and Architecture of the Shahumyan region.
“He designed the police building, he designed the culture building,” the sister says.
On 2 November, he was posthumously awarded the “Medal for Courage” by the President of the Artsakh Republic Arayik Harutyunyan.
Hrayr Asryan was born on 14 April. 1988. He died in the battles for the defense of the homeland on 31 October.
