A report was filed to the Turkish Prosecutor’s Office against Garo Paylan, an Armenian member of the Turkish Parliament

The controversy over the bill on the recognition of the Armenian Genocide presented by the Armenian MP Karo Paylan in Turkey does not stop. Along with statements strongly condemning Paylan’s this step, certain legal processes are also observed.

Ermenihaber.am reported.

Yesterday, a Turkish lawyer named Kadir Kartal “reported a crime” against Paylan to the prosecutor’s office. The report demands that Paylan be deprived of his parliamentary immunity and that a lawsuit be filed against him for submitting a bill to the parliament calling for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide and the removal of the names of perpetrators of the genocide from public buildings and streets.

According to the “justification” of the Turkish lawyer, the Armenian MP, by using the word genocide and presenting a bill, incited open hatred and enmity towards the people (Article 266 of the Turkish Criminal Code).
