During a telephone conversation, Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of the European Council Charles Michel addressed, among other issues, the issue of ensuring stability and security in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Kremlin said in a press release.
“Taking into account the recent contacts of Vladimir Putin and Charles Michel with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, the consistency and importance of implementation of the trilateral basic agreements reached between the Russian Federation, the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan on November 9, 2020, 11 January, 2021 and 26 November, 2021 was reaffirmed and emphasized.
In this context, the Russian President announced the implementation of programs aimed at restoring economic and transport ties, launching the process of demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, and preparing for the negotiations on a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.” the statement reads.
