Senator Robert Menendez Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, wrote on his Twitter page:
“Reports that Azerbaijani forces have entered parts of Nagorno Karabakh and launched drone strikes on the region’s self-defense forces are extremely concerning. I call on Azerbaijani forces to withdraw back to their initial positions and immediately cease their unprovoked attacks.”
It should be reminded that on 24 March, the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, grossly violating the requirements of the trilateral statement of 10 November, 2020, invaded the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping troops in the Artsakh Republic, took control of the village of Parukh in the Askeran region and adjacent positions, and then tried to then tried to advance on the eastern border of the Artsakh Republic..
The negotiations between the Russian peacekeeping troops and the relevant bodies of Artsakh for hours did not yield significant results, the enemy did not return to the starting positions.
On the night of 25 March, Azeri units opened fire on the units of the Defense Army, using both different caliber firearms as we; as a strike UAV. As a result of the skirmish, at least 5 servicemen of the enemy were killed. There are 14 wounded from the Armenian side.
Since the afternoon of 25 March, the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, continuing the gross violations of the ceasefire, in addition to firearms, have been using strike drones, including the “Bayraktar TB-2” type. As a result of the UAV strikes the Armenian side has wounded and suffered 3 casualties: contract soldiers of the Defense Army Davit Robert Mirzoyan (born in 1978), Ishkhan Serzhik Ohanyan (born in 1994) and Ararat Vagifi Tevosyan (born in 1990).
