Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed by telephone with French President Emmanuel Macron the situation around Ukraine, including an exchange of views on the course of negotiations between Russian and Ukrainian representatives, the Kremlin press service informed: TASS News Agency reports.
“At the initiative of the French side, a telephone conversation took place between President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron. A thorough exchange of views on the situation around Ukraine, including on the ongoing negotiations between Russian and Ukrainian representatives, continued,” the message says.
It should be reminded that early in the morning of 24 February; Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special military operation in Ukraine, aimed at ensuring the security of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics, as well as removing the “Nazi regime” in Ukraine.
The United States and the European Union have described Russia’s move as a direct aggression by Russia against Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The Verkhovna Rada has declared martial law in Ukraine.
