Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a telephone conversation with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan that he did not mind meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said.
The diplomat said that Ankara is making efforts to organize the meeting of the heads of states. According to him, such an initiative existed before the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
“The Ukrainian side is ready. The parties are discussing technical issues in Belarus,” Çavuşoğlu said.
The Erdoğan -Putin telephone conversation took place on March 6. Earlier, it was reported that Zelensky had expressed his readiness to meet with Putin in Ankara or Istanbul during a telephone conversation with Erdoğan.
