It is now difficult to understand the exact number of casualties among the civilian population in Ukraine due to the blockade of many cities by Ukrainian national battalions. Dmitry Peskov, Spokesman for the Russian President told reporters on Wednesday.
“Of course, under special operations, when many cities are blocked, all these national battalions do not let people out, it is very difficult to understand the final picture of possible losses,” the Kremlin spokesman said.
“Of course, we see all the information that passes through the UN, etc., it is reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin, but we do not know to what extent it can correspond to the real state of affairs,” Peskov said.
He clarified that he had also received information from the RF Ministry of Defense, but could not voice it, advising to contact the department directly.
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights said on Tuesday that there were 1,335 civilian casualties in Ukraine between 04:00 on 24 February and 24:00 on 7 March (local time).
