Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a conversation with French leader Emmanuel Macron, called the conditions for ending the war against Ukraine.
This was reported by the Kremlin press service after a telephone conversation between Putin and Macron, Украинская правда reported
Putin said that “settlement of the situation in Ukraine” is possible only if “Russia’s legitimate interests in the field of security” are unconditionally taken into account. The Kremlin put forward three conditions:
- recognition of Russian sovereignty over Crimea;
- solution of the tasks of “demilitarization and denazification of the Ukrainian state”
- ensuring its “neutral status”.
As is known, negotiations between the delegations of Ukraine and the aggressor state have been going on for several hours in the area of the Ukrainian-Belarusian border.
Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the President’s Office, said that Ukraine’s conditions in negotiations with Russia are a ceasefire and the withdrawal of all Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine.
